SIC Seminar Series: Th2 cell subsets – splitting hairs or separating wheat from chaff?
We are excited to welcome Associate Professor Christoph Schlapbach, an expert in TH2 skin biology / IL-9/IL-18 signalling, for a special SIC seminar.
Christoph Schlapbach, MD, PhD, is Associate Professor of Dermatology & Venereology at the Inselspital, Bern University Hospital, Chief of Service in the Department of Dermatology, and Visiting Professor at the University of Freiburg. He leads the department’s basic & translational research program, the cutaneous lymphoma outpatient clinic, and—since 2024—all ambulatory services.
His laboratory dissects pathogenic T cell circuits in inflammatory skin disease, with emphasis on Th2/Th9 biology, IL 18/IL 9 signaling, and metabolic control of eector function to guide targeted therapy in atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and cutaneous T cell lymphoma.
Recent publications include work in Nature Communications (2023) on PPAR γ–regulated glycolysis in human Th9 cells and in J Allergy Clin Immunol (2024) on IL 9–IL 18 crosstalk in atopic dermatitis.
